Historic Savannah

Hola,

I have had requests for a new blog recently. I have been meaning to do some but my laptop has decided to die. ITS THE ULTIMATE BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH!!! But never fear, new blog is here.

Here are my adventures of last weekend.

RIVER STREET!!!

River street is on a awesome street (well duh) with shops on one side and....well what else...a river on the other. I took this adventure with my brothers girlfriend Megan, who says I am weird because I dont ask for sweet tea at every restaurant we go to, but thats besides the point. The first thing Megan showed me was this one spot right on the street which if you stand right in the middle of it you can talk and no one can hear you but your voice echoes around you. Dont believe me?!?!? Yea, well I didnt believe her until I tried it. I honestly dont understand how it even happens but its so weird. Here is a picture of it.

The shops were really cool to walk into but nothing you wouldnt find in an old city.

One of the other things we did was walk through the colonial cemetery. It had people buried from the American Revolution. A signer of the Declaration of Independence was buried there. Many of the headstones were unreadable because of how old they were. I think of one of the coolest thing about the cemetery was "the wall of headstones."  During the Civil War the cemetery was destroyed and the headstones were destroyed. Well during the reconstruction they took some of the headstones that were partly entacted and put them all against a stone wall. They couldnt replace the headstones because they were not sure of its original place.

So as of right now, Savannah is a really cool place. Tomorrow I am going to a First Fridays sort of thing but its on Saturdays. Also because of the superbowl all museums are free this Sunday, so I will definately attempt to hit up all of them....well as long as I am home in time for Glee (shout out to my roomies <3)

I dont think I have accomplished any of my goals yet but its only been a week and five days. My brothers girlfriend, who I have enlisted as my new friend if she likes it or not, says she has a camouflage shirt she can give me so I may be able to cross off one thing.

I hope to keep my posts more frequent!!!

love love love,
Liz

p.s. I had more pictures but it wouldnt let me upload...boo technology

The Sun Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Hello Caliente and others...

I have decided to start a blog to keep people updated with what I am doing down in Georgia. Most of you have asked about what I am going to do down here...the truth is I dont really know...but this way I can tell you as the time goes by and I figure it out. As of right now I have come up with a small list of things I would like to accomplish the next four months. So here it is....

1. Meet Taylor Swift. It is unlikely to happen because she will be in Europe until April, but I think it should be on my list nonetheless. Also, I know its creepy I know her whereabouts.

2. I am down south so I feel like I  have two boy options. A.) a nice African American boy to call me baby girl. B.) a southern gentleman much like Luke Bryan or Brad Paisley.

3. Try and acquire a country accent. I kind of want to laugh every time I hear someone talk but at the same time I find it endearing. I think I could acquire a twang of some sort.

4. Try to pull off some sort of camouflage clothing. Honestly in the airport I saw men, women, and children wearing cammo pants and shirts like it was completely normal to wear in a non-hunting atmosphere. There was also a women with cammo luggage. I can already see Emily rolling her eyes at this goal but hey....When in Rome....or down south right?

5. This one is for Mary. I am willing to try a southern food that is different than any other region. This could easily be done with some sweet tea and fried chicken but I think I need something bigger. I will keep you updated on this.

6. The next is to get over the fear of the beach. This might seem weird but I do not like the beach. The ocean is a scary place filled with weird animals. Some fish can produce thier own electricity. No offense but that doesnt sound like something I want to be apart of. I will try.

7. Play frisbee in Georgia. I have found some pick up and will attempt to get on the southern scene. I have decided to pretend like I do not know how to play that way the expectation of my skills are low.

8. I will probably try to drive to the ATL and look for the housewives or a rapper. I feel like this could easily be done........or I will be shot. Time will tell.

9. Go on one of those haunted tour things. Savannah is enriched with history and I think one of the haunted tours would be really fun.

Those are the only goals I have thought of so far. I am sure I will add more as I get more acquainted with "The Hostess City of the South." I will try to add pictures of the places I go and see.

I hope you guys have a GREAT season and semester. I hope to stay updated on your ultimate season as you stay up to date with my...life season.
